Unit 8 At Christmas 

一、单元教材分析

本单元重点讨论的话题是“圣诞节”,主要介绍了人们在圣诞节通常做的一些事。重点学习叙述做某事的先后顺序的句型以及与圣诞节有关的活动。其中first, next, then, finally是表示顺序的副词。在英语中,我们可以在句首加这些词来表示时间或动作的先后顺序。

二、单元教学目标

(1)语音:了解字母J在单词中的发音。

(2)词汇:

单词:Christmas, buy, present, next, put, pretty, thing, look, stocking, finally, early, turkey, pudding, all, card, children, fold, message, him, us

短语:Christmas tree, Father Christmas, Christmas Eve, wait for, Christmas Day, have a good time

(3)句型:first, we buy presents for our family and friends. Next, we put some pretty things on the Christmas tree. Then, Christmas Eve comes. Finally, it is Christmas Day! Merry Christmas! What’s wrong with him?

三、单元教学重难点

1. 能正确使用first, next, then, finally叙述做某事的先后顺序。

2.能在真实的情景中正确运用本课词汇和日常交际用语。

3.了解与圣诞节有关的活动。

Unit 8 At Christmas (Period 1)

1 学生能够听懂、会读、会说card, Christmas tree, Father Christmas, present, stocking, turkey。

2 学生能够听懂、会读、会说日常交际用语First,…. Next, …. Then, …. Finally, ….

3 学生能够正确地理解并朗读文本,在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容。

4 学生能够正确使用First, …. Next, …. Then,…. Finally, …. 来描述一件事情。

Step1 Free talk

Good morning , boys and girls.

1. T: (课前播放关于Christmas 的音乐 )What is the music about ?

S: Christmas.

T: Yes. Christmas is coming soon. That’s our topic. 揭题Unit8 At Christmas (带读标题)

Step2 Pre-reading

1. Say something about Christmas you know .(学生已经了解有关Christmas的相关信息,复习和新授相关知识,教师板书相关知识)(在学生发言的过程中,教师可以派发圣诞卡片,并教学卡片)

Step3 While-reading

1. 整体感知

A. Watch and choose . What is the passage about ?(给出3个选项,看卡通,选择标题)

a. Mike’s family

b. The background of Christmas

c. The things we do at Christmas.

B. Read and find . Do you know how to introduce the things we do at Christmas ? Please read the passage quickly, and find the four key words. (引导学生快速读文章,找出本课的四个关键词:first, next, then , finally ,教师板书,并带读)

2. 自主学习

(1) 阅读理解

A. Read and answer . What do people do at Christmas ?

Read the story by yourselves and find the things they do .

学生阅读并找出动词词组,划出关键词。

S1: People buy presents. (Learn:present . 给出另一个英文解释:gift)

S2: People buy a Christmas tree.(Learn:Christmas tree )

S4: People put pretty things on the Christmas tree.

S5: People put the presents under the Christmas tree.

S6: Children put a stocking on the bed and wait for presents. (Learn:stocking,并与socks 进行区分理解 )

S7: Children wake up early and open the presents.

S8: People have a big lunch . They eat a turkey and Christmas pudding. (Learn:turkey )

(3)读课文

A. Read the story after the tape.

B. Read the story by yourselves.

C. Read the story together.

(4)Read and match . (书P80)

(5)Retell the story according to the phrases and pictures on the blackboard.

Step 4 After-reading

1. Let’s talk. What do you think of Christmas ?

S: Christmas is … (colourful, fun, happy, wonderful, … ) , because….

2. Talk about the things you do at Christmas . Try to use the sentences on the blackboard .

3. Discuss in groups and then share ideas.
