Story time

Teaching aims and learning objectives:

1. 通过数字游戏,复习三年级数字单词,学生能够利用数字表达价钱;

2. 情境呈现顾客营业员买卖过程,学生能够读准单词:shoes,socks,umbrella并理解句型How much is it/are they? It’s/They’re …yuan.

3. 能正确地理解并朗读对话内容,在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述、表演课文。

4. 能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型 ,询问价格,进行购物买卖。

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Presentation

T: Good morning, boys and girls. Today we’ll learn Unit 7. Let’s read the title. “How much”. At first, look at the picture carefully. Who are they? Where are they? What are they doing?

Ss:…

T: Yes. Su Hai and Su Yang are at school. They’re having a charity sale. Boys and girls, do you know how to have a charity sale? Please think and order.

A.Sell the old things. B. Find things to sell. C. Set a price. D. Raise money.

Ss: B-C-A-D

T: Well done. Step 1. Su Hai and Su Yang should find something to sell. Here are many things. What do they want to sell? Let’s watch the cartoon and tick.

Ss: A, D, E, G

T: Well done. Who can read the new words for us?

S1: An umbrella.

T: Listen to the tape. Read after it. Read in groups. Read it one by one. All the boys/girls read it. 

T: Read in groups. Each word twice. (Choose two groups. )

T: Step 2, Su Hai and Su Yang should set prices for every toy. Do you want to know the prices? How to ask? Please read page44-45 by yourselves and underline the questions with straight lines. Then discuss in pairs and read them together. Which pair wants to try?

Ss: How much is it/are they?

T: Well done. Now I want to know the prices. Do you want to know? Please Read page 44-45 again. Underline the key words with wavy lines. Read them in pairs.

Ss: It’s… yuan./ They are…yuan.

T: Well done. Step 3. Su Hai and Su Yang should sell the old things. If you were them, What will you say?

Ss:Come and have a look at my… It’s nice. /My … is very…

T: Well done! Who would like the old things? Please read after the tape and say.

Ss: …would like…

T: Good. At last, They should raise money. How much do they sell? Please read together and think.

Ss: Twenty-eight yuan.

T: Do they sell the fan at last? Why? Discuss in groups and choose one to answer.

Ss: No. The shoes are five yuan. The socks are four yuan. The umbrella is nineteen yuan. So they’re twenty-eight yuan in all.

T: Well done! Please choose one way you like to read this story.

T: Now let’s try to act the story in six.

(Choose two groups to act.)

T: Who will Su Hai and Su Yang raise money for? Maybe for the elderly, the poor, the patients, the homeless and the kids who want to go to school. Remember helping others is happy. Please help the others when they needed.

T:Homework for today: 1. Read Story time for 15 minutes and try to recite  2. Act Story time in six. 3. Help your parents or friends do something.
